On August 12, 2026, the European Union (EU) will fully enforce the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) (Regulation (EU) 2025/40) across all 27 member states. Covering the entire packaging lifecycle—from design and material selection to end-of-life management—PPWR represents the most significant packaging legislation introduced in Europe in over 30 years.

At its core, PPWR promotes packaging designed for reuse, recyclability, and circularity. For SCGP, this is more than regulatory compliance—it is an opportunity to accelerate innovation and create long-term value for customers.

Guided by our Circular Economy strategy, we continue to advance sustainable packaging through three key pillars:

Today, 99.7% of SCGP’s packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable, and we are committed to reaching 100% by 2030 through continued investment in R&D and sustainable packaging innovation.*

A notable example is Duy Tan, a member of SCGP, a leading rigid plastic packaging manufacturer in Vietnam. By integrating Circular Economy principles throughout its value chain, Duy Tan has reduced packaging weight by 5–10% through advanced technologies while developing packaging containing up to 100% PCR in collaboration with leading global brands.
