SCG Partners with Central Region FTI to Launch Go Together Project, Showcasing Carbon Reduction Processes and Inviting SMEs to Enhance Competitiveness and Transition to a Low-Carbon Society

SCG, in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Central Region, opened its Ban Pong factory in Ratchaburi province, part of SCGP, a comprehensive sustainable packaging solutions provider in ASEAN, to over 80 SME entrepreneurs from Ratchaburi, Samut Sakhon, Phetchaburi, and Nakhon Pathom provinces. The “Go Together Growing Together for a Sustainable World” project allows participants to learn from real experiences while exchanging ideas and receiving close consultation from experts to enhance competitiveness and transition to a low-carbon society. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Apisit Techanithisawat, Chairman of the Central Region FTI, along with Mr. Chana Poomee Chief Sustainability Officer at SCG, Mr. Sanit Kessuwan, Go Together Project Director, Mr. Pakawat Paseephol, Banpong Mill Director of Siam Kraft Industry Company Limited in SCGP, and Mr. Sunthorn Yongvibulsiri, ESG and Sustainability Director, SCGP, along with executive management welcoming visitors at SCGP Ban Pong Factory, Ratchaburi Province.
Mr. Chana Poomee said, “SCG operates under the Inclusive Green Growth approach, aimed at elevating SME entrepreneurs to transition to a low-carbon society by appropriately utilizing knowledge and technology, learning from SCG’s examples, and implementing them directly. Opening our facilities nationwide to SMEs demonstrates which projects are beneficial for carbon reduction while also reducing costs, thus minimizing investment risks for SMEs.”
Mr. Sunthorn Yongvibulsiri stated, “SCGP focuses on transitioning to a low-carbon society and sustainable energy management through three main strategies: 1) Using alternative fuels to replace fossil fuels, such as Biomass and production waste materials, 2) Utilizing technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve production efficiency, resulting in reduced energy consumption, and 3) Using raw materials from commercial forests, which act as carbon sinks and can offset greenhouse gas emissions.”
During this visit, entrepreneurs studied actual operations and learned about SCGP’s environmentally friendly management approaches, such as efficient resource utilization, circular economy application, and the use of technology and AI in industry to enhance business operations. Examples of solutions that entrepreneurs can implement include:
• Electricity generation process from paper production waste materials
• Automated solar panel cleaning robots to reduce accidents and improve solar panel efficiency
• Low-carbon products, such as environmentally friendly items that use fewer resources and energy, are recyclable and biodegradable, beneficial for SMEs to use as raw materials or components in their production
The Go Together project aims to allow entrepreneurs from all regions nationwide to study environmentally friendly management processes, exchange experiences, and build strong alliances leading to sustainable development of Thai industry. The project is supported by the Federation of Thai Industries and receives cooperation from the Thai Bankers’ Association in promoting Green Finance funding to support overall economic growth and create sustainable growth together.
